Maintenance Director

On behalf of our client, a company operating in the mining industry, we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Director, to be in charge of all maintenance operations in all mining facilities.

Role:

The Maintenance Director will be responsible for the correct drafting, planning and implementation of the company’s wide maintenance schedules within the Mechanical, Electrical and Automatization units, and including all functional systems in place. The Maintenance director will report the schedule and plan realization on a daily basis directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting and implementing the maintenance schedule, ensuring the successful realization of daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks, in collaboration with production and business units.
• Drafting, implementing and monitoring the budget (costs) of all maintenance units.
• Managing all materials and spare parts’ orders and stocks, in collaboration with the Maintenance Managers in every business unit.
• Supervising and ensuring daily maintenance routine works are completed efficiently and on time, as well as carrying out frequent field inspections.
• Ensuring that all maintenance work is properly documented by the maintenance departments in all business units.
• Supervising, training and managing the maintenance teams, particularly in completing regular maintenance duties, following purchase procedures, filling maintenance forms and maintaining respective electronic database.
• Engaging in problem solving, dealing with complaints and managing change during the introduction of new work systems.
• Drafting, introducing and implementing maintenance manuals for all machinery and equipment.
• Analyzing current state of the maintenance department and business units, recommending new investments and projects to be carried out with the overall objective of improving efficiency and reducing costs.
• Continuously driving change and improvements as well as continuous staff developments.
• Supervising all work carried out by third parties, and ensuring compliance to contracts
• Organizing the work of all maintenance units: mechanical, electrical and automation
• Other duties as assigned by the CEO

Requirements:

• Masters Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Formal education in project management or other related fields is desirable.
• At least 7 years of progressively responsible relevant experience; at least 5 years in a senior management position.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Strong knowledge of the mining industry
• Great analytical and communication skills
• Ability to stick to deadlines and resistance to stressful situations
• Ability to be collaborative and motivate people of different cultural background
• Good operating knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent knowledge of written and oral English
• Great negotiation skills and ability to work independently
