Job Description

International Purchasing Officer (IPO)

March 2022

Our client is an international manufacturing company operating successfully in Albania and currently growing its operations in the country.

On their behalf we are looking for an experienced and talented professional for a role in the international purchasing team.

The IPO will report directly to the Group Purchasing Director located in the European Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

Manage purchase issues related to the commodities under own responsibility; evaluate, report and escalate to management when needed.Proactively approach the right purchasing strategies according to objectives, guidelines and procedures set up by the Group Purchasing Direction.Ensure a good communication with Suppliers (mainly European) and build an efficient relationship.Ensure a good communication with internal customers; support and follow-up promptly.Identify, negotiate and manage all available opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement and delivery optimization (VAVE, resourcing, price negotiation, payment terms, etc.)Manage the invoices litigations, act as an escalation for delivery delays or quality problems.Research and keep a continuous market watch on raw materials fluctuations.Manage efficiently and effectively the weekly and monthly reporting to the Headquarters.Maintain the ERP (inforecords, source list, suppliers, etc.) and purchasing data (Masterfile, Suppliers panel, Suppliers quotations & follow-up, etc.)Support audit procedures with updated data and the document centralization processes when applicable.Travel abroad Albania when necessary.

Requirements:

Previous experience in Purchasing or Selling, preferably in an industrial environment.University Degree or equivalent education; (A degree in Chemistry is a high advantage).Good knowledge of MS office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); good knowledge of SAP is an advantage.Good communication skills, able to represent the Purchasing department in meetings or presentations.Ability to thoroughly analyze data, apply a moderate judgment, and find solution of specific problems.Excellent organizational and planning skills.Good interpersonal skills with internal or external clients.Able to discuss and negotiate within a multicultural environment.Excellent knowledge of English language. Other languages will be considered a plus.
